Swords Express scoops major National Transport Award
Eirebus owned company Swords Express has received the accolade of “Passenger Transport Company of the Year” for the second year running at the 2014 Irish Logistics and Transport Awards.
Now in its seventh year of operation, Swords Express has established itself as a key transport link between Swords and Dublin City Centre, with 90 daily departures and a 35 minute journey time to the city. Swords Express continues to go from strength to strength, serving an ever growing base of satisfied customers, with well over half a million passengers carried in the past year alone.
Owned and operated by Eirebus Ltd, Swords Express has shown robust growth in the past two years, doubling its customer base, employment levels and fleet size. Receiving the prestigious accolade of Passenger Transport Company of the Year at the 2014 Irish Logistics and Transport Awards is the latest chapter in the remarkable success story of this Swords’ based transport company.

Now in its fifth year, the Irish Logistics and Transport Awards took place before a packed audience of Ireland’s logistics and transport professionals, with comedian and writer Colm O’Regan presiding over the awards ceremony. Over 450 industry professionals from all over Ireland were present to applaud the finalists across 18 categories. The “Passenger Transport Company of the Year” award recognises the transport operator that has made real progress in the past twelve months.
Swords Express now operates 16 air-conditioned, Wi-Fi enabled coaches and employs 20 full time drivers. The company is owned by Eirebus Ltd, one of Dublin’s largest privately owned coach operators, now in its 43rd year of business. Eirebus owns and operates 40 coaches and employs over 80 people in Ireland, with subsidiary coach operations in Edinburgh and Southampton. It is an ISO 9001:2008 approved company.
